General Information
An international crowd and people from German-speaking countries, in particular, are attracted by the beauties of Lake Garda; and that throughout the year. A lot of people decide to rent a property for a long period or to buy one and thus turn the largest lake in Italy into their permanent second home or, ultimately, into their adopted country.
Location
Its privileged geographic position between the Alps and the Po Valley make Lake Garda an attractive location for one’s home. The northern shore of the lake is surrounded by peaks of 2000m, for example the one of Monte Baldo, and is therefore well-known and very popular among sportspeople practicing all kinds of sports. The southern shore gives way to the gentle slopes of the morainic hills; this landscape is dominated by vineyards, olive trees and cherry orchards. From here the famous cultural cities of Venice and Mantua as well as Italy’s capital of fashion, Milan, can easily be reached by car or train.
Climate
Another factor for the popularity of Lake Garda throughout the whole year is its sub-Mediterranean climate with its hot summers and mild winters with low precipitation. The average annual temperature is between a pleasant 13 °C and 15 °C. Water sportsmen, in particular, favour Lake Garda because of its steady winds “Ora” and “Peler”. Ora is a southerly wind which blows from about lunchtime until the early evening. Peler, on the other hand, is a northerly wind, which increases during the second part of the night and continues blowing until late morning.
